I recently downloaded Mozilla Thunderbird and whenever I click on a link inside a mail message (that should open a browser window) I get the following message:
'Application "galeon-bin" (process 10009) has crashed
due to a fatal error. (Segmentation fault)'
So i can never open browser windows through thunderbird.
Is this a general problem or just mine, and if so does anybody know how
to fix this?
I am using firefox (it's great) i just didnt know that galeon is a browser. So your post made me realize that i have to change the default application that Mandrake starts when you click a hyperlink... which brings me to my next question: how do i set the default application
wgat Desktop are you using ?
(probably KDE or GNOME)
if you are using KDE, Open konqueror by opening your Home directory, or typing konqueror in a command line.
then go through
'Settings --> Configure Konqueror -> File association's'
and find the web pages / html section and remove galeon from the program list, and add the location of firefox binary.
that should work for KDE.
If you are using GNOME, then i dont know, but its bound to be somthing similar.
Thunderbird doesn't have any hooks into KDE at the moment. You need to log into a Gnome session and go to Desktop Preferences> Advanced> Preferred Applications> Custom Web Browser and fill in the full /path/to/firefox/firefox %s
new problem. If i click on a hyperlink that should open a browser window,
and my browser (firefox) is already open, instead of just opening a new window it gives me a profile selection dialogue.
That is, it starts the program again, without trying to just open a new window.
