Mozilla Thunderbird Atom and Google

Hi, I just wonder if it is possible to setup the google Atom feed in Thunderbird mail client, or at least how to setup any Atom feed, I've tried with the "news & blogs" accoutn type but when trying to add an atom url it tells me it is now a valid RSS feed (something I know... 'cause it is an Atom feed).

What am I missing?

Thank you!.
