I am using mandrake 9.2 with KDE 3.1

I wonder which web browser is better : Mozilla or Konqueror?

In which way is one better than the other?Is it faster?More reliable?Better equiped?etc,etc,etc

I think it's just a matter of personal preference really. No harm in trying both out. I'm a fan of Mozilla Firefox at the moment.

Galeon is very nice too. I really like those built-in search boxes that you can reprogram to search on other pages. It's built on the gekko engine (as mozilla).

It is running sweet on my SuSE 9.1 and Xandros 2.0 systems. The e-mail is incredibly fast and the cool thing is that you never have to move mail from folder to folder. Opera indexes the mails and you can make filters (virtual folders) based on sender, recepiant, subject, and or any combination. Opera automaically does this for you all your contacts, mailing lists, active threads.

If you download Opera 7.5 TP2, not released to the public you get in addition a spellchecker, irc client, new design etc. Just search the web for the link. In SuSE the online updater gets it.

I have used Opera 6, Galeon, Mozilla 2.4 and Firefox.
I find the GTK1 firefox is the best. The GTK2 kept crashing on me.
Mozilla and Firefox are good because there are so many extensions available

i'm using konq right now as my main browser. imo, it really depends on what works best for your system. for me, with a laptop with a cheezy ass sound card that can't even do full duplex, konq works the best for me since it automatically uses arts for sound mixing which means no dsp resource conflicts for me (me=kde user). mozilla/firebird can do this from the command line using the artsdsp command, but it doesn't seem to work when creating a link with the artsdsp command. opera looks nice but is a lost cause for me. funky resource stuff going on with opera (it is the only browser that i've had the experience to actually crash X - it did it by chomping up on memory and then all the virtual memory. this was going to opera's forums!). anyway, try them all.

Try them all yourself, and make your own decision as to which one is best. That being said, Firefox gets my vote. Like Mozilla, it has a built-in pop-up blocker which is super helpful. -- J.W.

I have been using Firefox since it was Firebird 0.6.1. I think it's the best browser out there.

Haven't tried FireFox, but I used to used Firebird. It really was great, but I now use Mozilla because I like the integration of Mail and Browser. If you can live without that, then go for FireFox, otherwise go for Mozilla.

well back then I started with Konqueror then tried Mozilla and then Mozilla FireBird which was recently renamed to FireFox ...

my personal favourite is FireFox since it's just what I need, Mozilla is good but I don't need all the packages that are included like so FireFox is my 1st choice ...

I agree with TheOneKEA that FireFox is the best browser out there.

I could be wrong but I don't think there is rpm available out there since all you need to do is d/l the firefox-0.8-i686-pc-linux-gnu.tar.gz file, untar it and it's ready to go ... CMIIMW

I've done that BUT i wasn't able to change the font NOT in the web page but on the file edit view go bookmark etc, etc. The font looks really bad.I've tried also 2 change it through look'n'feel in mandrake 9.2 but with no luck. Any ideas why?
