mozilla not working properly after switch to broadband
I use Mandrake LE2005 with Mozilla 1.7.6 and mozilla mail.
When using dial up Mozilla worked great, now have broadband 512K connected via a router. Mozilla mail does not get past trying to connect to server (virgin.net) when using my Virgin account. I have 2 accounts on Mozilla, Virgin won't send mail but if I send from other account via Virgin Mozilla asks for a password and the message is sent. Mozilla browser works until I get to a login screen when it sits "connecting".Have also tested without success Fireox. I'm assuming that some security feature is causing the problem -anyone got an idea what ? NOTE. Kmail and Konqueror work fine but I don't want to use Konqueror for browsing since some sites just don't work well with it. thanks in advance Andy |
helps if you tell us what kind of connection you have, what router you have etc... most likely it's something on the router itself... no logs on it?

its a D-link DSL-G604T connected via eth0. The router's system log shows PPPoA being established and no errors, when I connect using Konqueror /Kmail I am successful, so I cannot see how the problem can be in the router. Also works fine under windows.
I have just reset the router and retried a site that fails at login - again no errors reported in the router log file. |
solved it. ipv6 was the problem , this stopped secure websites working. Other threads on this site and others used this fix when no internet was not working at all.
added to /etc/modprobe.conf alias net-pf-10 off alias ipv6 off mozilla now works with my D-link router |
