mozilla issues

I try to install mozill as a regular user and I get to the part where to put the install files and I get permission denied. So I close program and change to root and do the same thing but I get this error:

Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified

Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :0.0

I am running Suse 9.0

I think you need to enable root to access X.

As root, type
/usr/X11R6/bin/xhost +

You should now be able to run apps as root.
