Mozilla Firefox - Unable to Install Newest Linux Version

My husband has an ASUS eeePC with Linux. It came loaded with Firefox, which is now an old version, 2. something. I downloaded the newest Linux version but am clueless about how to install it. It's just a bunch of separate folders, none of which seems to have an .exe file for installation. So does he just need to keep this old version of Firefox forever because the computer has only Linux? A-a-a-gh!!! (Help!)
