mozilla/firebird - new window without new profile?

I have an icon on the taskbar of my KDE desktop in RH9, I click on it and up launches another Mozilla window -- apparently running my same default profile. When I added a link for Firebird (Phoenix), I can open a new window -- but any consecutive click will prompt me to choose a different profile than the "default".

So I was wondering how I can disable the profiles, or what special config/linking happens that is different in launching Mozilla over Firebird.

Mozilla Icon- command: mozilla %u, general: redhat-web.desktop
Firebird Icon- command: firebird %u, general: Firebird.desktop

any thoughts or ideas? Thanks

You can do a ctrl+n to open up a new window or a ctrl+t to open up a new tab. I don't know how to disable the profile system.

Hi, do the following as 'root':

- create: '/usr/bin/MozillaFirebird' containing:
Code:
#!/bin/bash

/opt/MozillaFirebird/MozillaFirebird -remote "openURL($@, new-tab)" || exec /opt/MozillaFirebird/MozillaFirebird "$@";
(change the path to MozillaFirebird, above, to _your_path_)

Code:
- chmod 755 /usr/bin/MozillaFirebird
- edit: '/usr/share/desktop-menu-patches' as follows:
Code:
[Desktop Entry]
Name=MozillaFirebird Web Browser

Cheers.
