Mozilla extensions...

I am having trouble getting a couple of mozilla extensions to work. The first one is an image zoom extension. It keeps telling me that I dont have the correct permissions in the directory I installed it in. I have full R W X permissions so I have no idea what it is talking about. The second is an extensions manager. I installed that, and it says that I have to have the installations remover (the older version) installed before I can use this one. All right, but then upon trying to install that from the addons/mozilla webpage, I get nothing. No dialogue, nothing.

Also, i installed a tabbed browsing manager that is supposed to direct opening windows into tabs. It has had no effect, and windows still pop up all the time. I am a tabbed browsing kind of guy, so I find this pretty annoying. These extensions all work pretty well with firefox, but I dont want firefox, I want mozilla!!!!!

Try installing it as root, instead of a general user. But I would suggest that nearly all the plugins you mention, I know work on FireFox because they were designed for FF, not for Mozilla. I would just use FF and Thunderbird, is there a reason you want them put together in Mozilla?
Anywho, not to harp on that, so if you want to use Mozilla, use Mozilla Plugins, not FF plugins. That is probably all the issue you are having.

I had the image zoom extension installed and it was working until one of the recent firefox updates - I imagine the extension needs to be updated for the newer but it hasn't been. I suspect that if it breaks with newer versions of firefox it wouldn't work with something fundamentally different like mozilla too.

Installing it as root works, but then the problem is that it doesn't install it under my profile. These extensions say that they work with mozilla. I was in the mozilla suite extensions list when I downloaded them, so evidently mozilla thinks they work for Mozilla Suite too. Aslo, they are really not plugins, they are extensions. Plugins are designed by third party software manaufacturers, while extensions are designed by indiividuals/ members of the mozilla development community.

It is not that it doesn't work (although that may be the case) it is that I can't get it to install correctly...
