Mozilla default home page preference

Running RH 9.... Mozilla comes up with a RedHat beg page that is in the default home page field in preferences. Nothing I've tried will get rid of it. When I change the field and leave the page, some sneaky SOB puts the RedHat crap back as the default.... HELP please !!!

Type about:config into the addressbar and change browser.startup.homepage_override.1 to false - at least I think that's the one to change. Try that one first and if it doesn't work try one that looks likely. You could avoid these troubles by using a download from Mozilla but each to their own.

To change your default page with Mozilla , Use PREFERENCE option and under navigator change your default page in home page location....

I changed the startup option in js file and it fixed the startup page problem in
LINUX. The WINXP version was fixable without a manual edit of the js file.
.
Thanks for the help
