Mozilla and Galleon not working after Ximian Desktop 2 install.

I am a total newbie to linux and I had just installed Ximian Desktop 2. Everything seems to work fine except for the browsers. When I attempt to run them (by clicking on the icon) absolutley nothing happens. I can do this as many times as I like, probably until the end of the world, and nothing would happen. I know it would be a lot easier for people to understand me if I had some sort of error but no error message shows up. Help is always appreciated. As a side note, I am using the Konqueror browser, so that must mean something is horribly wrong with mozilla. Also, before I had installed Ximian I had created a Java and Flash plugin with the mozilla browser.

any help is appreciated

" no error message shows up."

You might be able to get error messages by opening a terminal and executing the command, i.e. open a terminal and at the command prompt type in:
mozilla

You also could help diagnosis by typing in:
which mozilla
This will tell you if the mozilla command is in your PATH.

su to root and type in:
find / -iname "*mozilla*"
This will tell you if mozilla exists anywhere on your system.

the problem was that I had installed the wrong java plugin and the browser wouldn't even start.
