mozilla 1.7 cant create directory on install


my friend just hooked me up with suse 9.1, and i downloaded mozilla 1.7 and when the installer comes up it askes if i want to create user/local/mozilla but then it says it cannot create said directory. any advice?

Run it as root, not as yourself ...

i forgot to mention i did that. (oops) and i couldnt get into the konsole. ive also tried to use the su command. and it says:

Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified


Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :0.0

sorry for not including this in the first post.
any advice, now?

As root, type
Code:
/usr/X11/bin/xhost +
which will allow root to use X Windows.

Alternatively, login as root instead of a user, rather than using su.

it gives me the same xlib error. when i type what u told me to.

as i said before, i cant seem to get into a konsole as root.

(i feel computer illiterate all over again, heh)
