Mozilla 1.4 multiple instances/profile

Hi All,

I have a newbie question on Mozilla. I'm running RH9 and I recently uninstalled the Mozilla RPM's and installed the latest version of Mozilla.

The new version works fine but I have a problem when I try to open multiple instances of Mozilla using either the desktop icon or typing "mozilla" in a terminal. If I try to start a second instance of Mozilla I get a pop-up asking me to choose a profile. If I select "Start Mozilla" I get an error that the profile is already in use and I need to create a new one.

However, if Mozilla is already running and I hit "ctrl-n". A new Mozilla window opens. So I know that I can have multiple Mozilla windows open.

Any suggestions?

Hi, do the following as 'root':

- create: '/usr/bin/mozilla' containing:

/opt/mozilla/mozilla -remote "openURL($@, new-tab)" || exec /opt/mozillla/mozilla "$@";
(change the path to 'mozilla', above, to _your_path_)

- chmod 755 /usr/bin/mozilla

"If I try to start a second instance of Mozilla I get a pop-up asking me to choose a profile."

this is normal, it's already running, no need to run it again. just use the tabbed browsing feature and open as may windows as you want.
