mouseconfig
mouseconfig does not have my "Mouse" brand. I have a two-button/wheel/USB/Kensington mouse. As a result, I cannot use my mouse on my GUI. What can I do, besides purchasing a compatible mouse, to get the thing working. I am using Red Hat

Welcome to LQ!
How do you plug that rascal into your computer? If PS/2, choose the IMPS/2 option and try that. If USB, choose the usb connected mouse option and try that. And you might want to try a newer distribution of Linux. RedHat gave up on the desktop market a couple of years ago. They are now allowing people to test their product for them, giving free iso images of Fedora Core. After the users help them find the bugs, and they fix enough, they release some product such as RedHat Enterprise Linux. I'm partial to Slackware. I tried RedHat, then Debian, and found Slackware to be more to my liking. |
