Try editing the file called "XF86Config" located at /etc/X11/ (note, in some distributions, that file can also be called XF86Config).
Scroll down the file until you find something like this:

Most likely, you will want to edit your Protocols and Device to an USB device. You could alternatively try to run "redhat-config-xf86config (or something like that... ) and re-enter your display properties.
