Mounting windows shares...


How can I go about mounting a shared directory on my windows machine to my linux machines file system?

add a line like this to your fstab:
Code:
/dev/hda1 /mnt/WinXP vfat umask=000, 0 0
and mount it with mount /mnt/WinXP (make sure the folder WinXP exists)

Did you mean a networked share, or a local shared partition?

If the former, use a tool like Linneighborhood to connect to the windows machine hosting the share, login as a user, and mount it. You can also set it to open up a file manager after mounting.

If the latter, then use the method posted above.
