Angry mounting Win XP ntfs partition on linux need help


how do you mount a ntfs file system in Red Hat 7.2

and if you would give me the line to put into /ect/fstab file so it auto mounts thanks

Have you tried using the search feature?

It works quite well ....

Try ntfs fstab mount

sorry to be non-specific, but 'man fstab' should suit all of your fstab needs...

You don't really want to do this.
as root
mkdir /NT
mount /dev/hd** /NT

where ** is the location of the ntfs partition. (probably hda1)

warning - you can really fluck a ntfs partition in linux.

Also there have been great strides lately using the actual windows ntfs driver. Check this out if you all about "bleeding edge"

if you write to it, yes, but not if you mount it read - only with -o ro

If you post to a Linux User Group with a question about how to mount your WindowsXP partition at boot in your fstab, chances are you're not real sure what you're doing and you'll fluck it all to hell.
hence my warning.
