Mounting samba share not working

When I type

Code:

mount -t smbfs -o username=%username%,password=%password% //computer/share /mnt/mount_point

I get the error

Code:

mount: fs type smbfs not supported by kernel

I just installed Debian 3.0... does this mean I have to recompile my kernel?? I hope not
Hope some1 can provide some insight

Well i think you _have_ to recompile the kernel so that it supports SMB filesystem.

Yes u r right that u have to recompile ur kernel becz it doesn't support.
