Hello,
I am trying to mount two USB connected drives, both are HFS+ format. Ive installed the three progs (hfsutils, hfsprogs, hfsplus) and tried several mount commands, none of which have allowed me write access to the USB drive. The drive is setup as a backup for a Mac, but my laptop is WinxP/Ubuntu, so I do not know if journaling is the cause of my issues.
Here is my output for the drive in question
Code:
mc@ubuntu:~$ sudo blkid
/dev/sdb2: UUID="dd13ccb0-4a7d-3e32-b137-daf863e4de2c" LABEL="G-DRIVE mobile USB" TYPE="hfsplus"
and when i plug it in, this is how it mounts
Code:
mc@ubuntu:~$ mount
/dev/sdb2 on /media/G-DRIVE mobile USB type hfsplus (ro,nosuid, nodev, uhelper=udisks)
I tried this mount command, based on its popularity in other posts, but I get a message about appearing to be read-only
Code:
sudo mount -o force /dev/sdb2 /mnt/usbdrive
Lastly, I did run fsck.hfsplus and it came back perfect. So what am I missing here? I had (but have since removed) an entry in fstab for the UUID of the drive. I removed it b/c I wasnt sure I thought it was conflicting with the manual mount i attempted.
