mounted volume icons on gnome desktop
Hello,
I have a volume I mount in fstab as ... /dev/sda6 /home/jameson/data ext3 relatime 0 0 It shows up on my Desktop, like when I put in a CD-Rom or a USB drive. I am aware that there is an option in gconf to not display mounted volumes on the Desktop. I don't want this. I only want to get ride of this one partition from showing up. I suppose my question is, why don't /, /boot and /home show up on the desktop? How do I add to this exclude list? Thanks, Jameson |
I think if you mount something into /media then the icon is displayed on your desktop; not sure, but see if that icon disappeared if you mounted it outside of /media, for example into /mnt.

Thanks for the thought - was mounting to /fs, though.
