Mount existing linux hard drive in new linux computer

The question I need answered is already asked in (html#17875798). Over the last 2 days I've found via Google, 3 or 4 other folks asking this same question. No one ever seems to resolve this problem or at least documents how they finally resoved it. I'm running Fedora Core 4. My server that is running a php web app crashed and won't boot fully. The app is running. The decision was made to build a new Fedora Core 4 server and move the data from the old computer to the new. It was my bright idea to mount the HD from the old server in the new and copy the data. However, I continue now, for 2 days, to have the same problem as outlined in html#17875798, and haven't found the definitive answer outlined fully. I am a newbie with this project thrust upon me. Can someone please outline this a little more in depth. The data is extremely important (please don't criticize right now as to why I don't have a an external backup, I've already pulled 2 of my own shoes out of my....) and I can't turn this into a science project.

forgive my ignorance, but what (or where) is html#17875798?

As slackhack posted we really have know idea what you are talking about but I can assume this is a an LVM mounting issue. The link below shows how to mount an LVM partition from another Fedora computer.
