Motorola SM56 Data Fax Modem Installation
I am using F9 64bit version of HP dv 6560ee laptop. this laptop come with Motorola SM56 Data Fax Modem as an internal dialup modem. I couldnt find any serious help regarding installing its drivers in F9.
help is need to install this internal modem!!!

Here is the place to start, do some reading and download & run scanModem tool.

Not too many modems are supported in 64bit Linux, lots in 32bit.

well the link provided for my modem type says that page doesnt exist any more contact motorola.
now what should i do?

ScanModem will produce many text files, one of which will have the relevant information regarding your modem and Linux distribution. It says somewhere on that page that you can email it to the linmodem maintainers if you need assistance. Make sure to follow instructions on how to write the "subject" part of the email.

Also check the archives at linmodems.org to see if someone with the same modem has already asked for help, the answers may be found with some time spent reading.
