Most powerful 2D graphics editor for Linux???

Hi! I have recently installed Mandriva 2005 on my laptop computer. I need to work with 2D images, which I did using adobe photoshop in windows. Now, I was thinking, is it possible to run photoshop in Mandriva? Maybe using Wine? If I use Wine, is it possible to install the driver to my scanner which was made to be installed in windows (my scanner is not supported by SANE)? What is the best 2D graphics editor for Linux? 3D? Furthermore, does anyone know what is the best 2D board I could by to install in my Toshiba Satellite A10, which would be conpatible with my Mandriva Linux?? I need to work with CT scan images, and a powerful 2D board with powerful software is important. Thanks in advance!

IMHO...

Best 2d: The Gimp
Best 3d: Blender

AFAIK Photoshop 7.0 works w/ wine, but CS doesn't
