Most of the programs crash on Mdk9.1

Hello All,

I have a strange problem. I have mdk9.1 installed on HP zt1195 laptop. I works fine initially, but if I have the machine on for a few hrs, say 8 hrs most of the programs, I can't open most of the programs; they crash when trying to start. I have to reboot and everything is fine after that.

Any clues please.

Thanks,
Senthil

Try running the graphical program GKrellm, or the command line top or maybe ps. Can you see if something is using all your resources?
Do you have any network connected to the laptop?
Do you know how hot the inside of the laptop is getting?
Have you installed any new hardware recently?

Usually even when the machine is compiling something hard the temp doesn't do beyond 60-62 C. The fan starts and cools it to 55 C. Other than that there are no unusual resource usage.

It is connected to the all the time. Any clues please...

Cheers,
Senthil
