mosfet liquid installation

i'm trying to install mosfet liquid in kde, but with no luck... i've gotten the files to compile and did a make install just fine, but nothing happens. there are no new options anywhere, it's like i haven't done anything at all... i got the rpm version, but it does nothing after i install it as well..

You need to restart KDE. Then you should see a different start screen (from Liquid).
Simply, log out and in. It should help.

nah, that wasn't the problem, i've managed to fix it now. the ./configure was putting the files into the wrong place. thanks though

exigent,

I am having the same problem. How did you repair the configure file?

Under some distros, like SuSE 8.1, KDE is installed into /opt/kde3. Other distros have it installed in the /usr/kde, which is where liquid likes to install itself. I took the long route and manually copied the files from /usr/kde to the respective folders under /opt/kde3. A simpler route would be to use a flag when compiling which should be --prefix /your/path/to/kde (--prefix /opt/kde3 in my case)... If I'm not mistaken, which I probably am :-)
