quick solution...
use mplayer
xine is cool (at least the name is) but i find mplayer much simpler and friendly to use...just grab the divx codec of the divx site and the win32codecs off the mplayer site and you're good to go (at least i am?)
this is just my 2cents...
...by the way ...that "...failed...<aa>" message is from aalib that i posted about before...if you just installed it and then tried to run xine ...try running `ldconfig` as root then rerun xine...not sure about the other plugins tho
