monitor the change of one file

in my linux server, size of one application log file keep growing at specified interval, I am trying to figure out which application write the data to this file. I try lsof command and check crontab , still cannot discover application. which method should I take ? Thanks in advance.

try 'man watch' (e.g. watch lsof)
