monitor power control problems Mandriva 2009

Hi, I use Mandriva 2009 distro. I'm having a problem with a monitor.
It goes into sleep mode even though all three power control options are disabled, in the monitor power menu (Standby, Suspend and Power off are "disabled").
When I log in these setting are ignored and the monitor 'falls asleep' after 10 minutes. If I go to the power control panel and uncheck and then check the "Enable display power management" mark - the monitor behaves normally.
Is there anything else that controls the monitor in Mandriva 2009?
thanks
