Monitor not listed
 

I have a NEC Multisync 77F monitor which is not listed in the configuration. Once I login my comp hangs at a blank red screen when I log in as root. A bar with a letter K appears on the bottom of the screen for a few moments then disappears if I click on it. When I login as a user, I get a blue screen which gives me the first time wizard where i set everything up, things are shown in the background on the desktop until I hit finish then everything disappears and hangs at a blank blue screen. I have a feeling it is the config on my monitor but I'm not sure. I set it at NEC Multisync 75F since that was the closest thing listed. Am I going to have to try every listed monitor or does anyone know what a compatible one would be that is listed. Thank for all your help. I am determined to get this thing working...had it w/ windows!
