module init tools?

can someone direct me to the module init tools i need and tell me where to install it to avoid getting the "QM_MODULES/function not implemented" error in the 2.6.0 kernel? i installed what looked like the latest one from this page (0.9.14.tar.gz) but it didn't work. i'm not really sure what i need to do. thanks

i installed the 9.14 version again, guessing from the link provided, but the kernel still gave the QM_MODULES error. when i do depmod -h (or depmod anything), it says: Version requires old depmod, but couldn't run depmod.old: no such file or directory. so i uninstalled the package, and now i have no depmod!

can anyone clarify the procedure to get the module init tools to work with 2.6.0, including where they need to be installed? appreciate.
