module acpi not found


I am Getting error while rebooting when OS searches for new hardware

"module acpi not found"

Can you help me how to resolve it and why is the error.

Did you recently complile a new kernel?
It usually happens to me when I compile the first kernel on the system and compile apm/acpi inside the kernel not in the module. If this is the case then it would help if you'd comment acpi in in rc.modules or just use the rc.modules of the new kernel.

I'm sorry if it's not the case here.
