modprobe problem!

Hi!
I just installed Slackware 10.2. Alsmost no devices work! But theres a strange problem, while Slackware boots, I got alot of:
Code:
/lib/modules/2.4.31... init_module: No such device
/lib/modules/2.4.31... hint: insmod errors can be caused by inncorect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters...
when I try to even load apm module, I got the same errors! Whats wrong?? Thank you!

Have you installed the modules package for 2.4.31 and not for the one meant for 2.6 ? Ensure modules match with with the kernel.

I'd faced this problem myself. Are you using an initrd image to boot 2.4.31 ? If yes, I'd say you re-sompile your kernel and a new initrd image to boot your system.
