I have this modem and with the modem comes software you have to install. The problem is that the modem is for windows. So I would like to know, is there some command that you can type in to make it install, or do you have to install the software to go online. I have a U.S Robotics 56K Performance Pro Modem

It appears that this modem (or similar modems) is supported in linux. Sorry, I can't give you a direct link, but you will need to download some software from the USRobotics website and do some setup to get it to run. They should have instuctions on the website.
