Question Modem Libraries.

I wish to write a GUI application that will use a modem.

What libraries exist that can help me with this task?

Also, what GNU GPL software can I look at that do similar tasks?

you can always browse,

check it out, they might have both things you're looking for, they have many libraries and a ton of software.
