Greetings, I am currently running RedHat 6.2. That system has an old Texas Instruments (XPVS336I T2 33.6Kbps FDSP)ISA 'Hardware' modem. Is there a web site anyone can point me to that will give me a good overview of the processes involved in configuring/seting up a modem in linux. Thanks in advance, Greagh |
If its a hardware modem then there is very little setup to do. So long as your kernel has serial port support you should be able to access it under one of the /dev/ttyS devices. Have a look at http://linuxdocs.org/HOWTOs/Modem-HOWTO.html for details.

Thanks very much for the URL, looks just like what I need. Another question: Is there one or two of the various Linux flavors that are attuned more to Business than the others? Thanks in advance...
