Are you trying to set up this particular computer to have internet access? How do you have your network setup? Are you connecting with cable, dsl, or dial up? Is the computer hooked up to a hub or router or another pc for internet sharing? If you're running a network whose gateway connects to the internet via cable or dsl you most likely won't need your modem at all but the ethernet card you will need for sure.
