mmsclient request: Connection refused

I'm running centos6 server (command line only) and I can't get mmsclient to fetch a stream (mms_client-0.0.3.tar.gz). This is the command and console output:
mmsclient mms://
host : ><
path : >7/726/23543/v0001/<
file : >/4D885E5457A8C701.wmv<
creating output file '4D885E5457A8C701.wmv'
port: 0000db06
socket open
request: Connection refused
is there any way round this? I've also tried vlc and that doesn't work either. Thanks for any help.
