mldonkey problem
i had mldonkey loaded and running fine and the other day i tried to open the program but it said "the program mldonekey+net could not be found"
turns out my downloads had filled up my harddrive. so i deleted the downloads i didn't need well the program still wouldn't open so i deleted and unpacked it again but i am still getting the same error please help |
I ran into a similar problem when I wasn't paying attemption and had the 8th CD converted to WAV and filled my hard drive. I had to delete (actually backup .mozilla) .mozilla and then it started properly. Several of the files where severely hosed, literally, root could not delete. Cluster error --> Media corrupted, run fsck. Ran fsck -ext3, then could delete .mozilla, and the system is fine again. (well, haven't seen any more side affects to filling the HD up). Is there a .mldonkey directory? Have you run fsck?

did you run it from sbin;
i tried fsck but it said it could seriously damage a mounted filesystem and i didn't want to hose it futher is this ok? did you use any extensions? |
If you didn't run mldonkey as root you 'should' be ok.Only root is allowed to fill up a ext2/3 file system by more than 95%.If the box boots without file system errors that won't be the problem.

i wasn't root but the drive had to have been more than 95% full it only had like 600K before i deleted temp files
what can i try to do? |

Try locate mldonkey, then go to that directory and then ./mldonkey RO |
