Mldonkey...

Hi

I just installed mldonkey using synaptic, I can run mldonkey with the mlgui command, but I cant connect, there's no server to connect, I search on google and tells me that I need to config the downloads.ini file but I can't find it, is not in my /etc folder (There's no /etc/mldonkey folder),

Can someone tell me where is the file or what do I have to do?

Thx.

Go to a shell and go the directory you want download.ini plus other configuration files to be created.

The binary you have to run is mlnet+gui . When you have done that, the program will check for those files and if he can't find it... it will create them for you. You can configure your program using the GUI, too. just look at the toolbars you can find there.

I have found it very easy to install and configure , unlike giFT + giFT - FastTrack or any other p2p technology programs

Hey hope you don't mind me crashin in ;-)
I have decompressed files to /usr/share/doc/mldonkey-distrib-2.5-3/. Then I tried running mlnet+gui but I get this err. message:

"your system supports 1024 file descriptors"
"resolving [localhost]...Segmentation fault."

What am I to do?!

I have solved my problem above, it seems that that problem occurs only at static versions of mldonkey, there is on issue like that when using shared version.

But now there is one other problem... when I run ./mlnet+gui everything registers and I get this err message:

...
No config found .... generatin one...
Fatal error: Exception Sys_Error("./downloads.ini: permission denied")

What now?

Oh and... locating downloads.ini returns 0.

i can get the mldonkey gui up and running, but it wont connect. keeps saying connecting, not connected. ive even tried changing the hostname from localhost to 192.168.1.2..which is of course the static IP my dsl router assigns me. is it possible that something else is using the port that mldonkey wants? i clicked on the Scan Ports thingy on the gui..and it said something about my host not being able to connect to mysql in the terminal. does mldonkey use the ports which might also be used by mysql? i am running an apache server and of course mysqld on here.
