mlb.tv stopped working yesterday

I was wondering if anyone else using mlb.tv has had a similar experience. I'm concerned the mlb.tv people have been performing some updates, perhaps to flash 8.

I had been using the trick to watch mlb.tv where you use the firefox mplayer plugin, setting noembed=1 in mplayer-plugin.conf. I was watching a game yesterday in ubuntu when the window just closed, and I was unable to reopen it. I also had an archlinux installation in which mlb.tv was working, so I switched over to that. No success. I then decided to try using OSX with my powerbook. This failed too. I was beginning to theorize (hope?) that something was wrong with my account. However, when I booted the pc into windows, mlb.tv was working, albeit strangely.

First of all, that obnoxious flash cover for the embedded video player was gone, leaving me with the standard windows media player embedded controller. Video was working smoothly, but sound was extremely finicky (some games worked, others did not).

Back in linux, my mplayer plugin is definitely still working as I tried streaming video from other sites, and it both works and loads appropriately in a new window.

Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem, or is still happily running mlb.tv on any platform. Am I the only one experiencing this?

looks like something was changed. I could not get a game to come up using the native ff browser, However, I got it to work using the win32 version of ff. I posted before on how to do this

Good to hear Im not the only one (maybe?). I found your previous guide and also got it to work using win32 firefox. Thanks a lot for that.
