mkisofs/cdrecord and directories

Ok, I've got the hang of mkisofs and cdrecord, nearly. But I can't get them to copy directories to a cd, for backup purposes.
If I use mkisofs to backup whole directories, what do I have to put in the command line???

If I put mkisofs ............ <all the commands> /home/dad1/My_scans
It copies everything in My_scans to the iso, which cdrecord then puts on the cd. But I want the My_scans directory then the files. How do I get that?? Any tips anyone?

Yes, mkisofs puts everything in the path at the top level. If you make a directory called cd (or anything you like actually), and then mv the My_scans directory to that, you can use the command "mkisofs ............ <all the commands> /home/dad1/cd" and your cd will have the My_scans directory.

Thanks a lot, worked first time. I made a directory ...../To_cd shoved My_scans in it, mkisoed it, cdrecorded it, and bam! No probs, so thanks again.
Is it true you don't have speed limits in Montana? I mean on big highways? Like here in Germany on the Autobahn? The rest of America is only allowed to do 50 mph I heard. Not that I'm a fan of high speeds, just curious.

Unfortunately, there is now a statewide speedlimit in Montana, generally 75 mph on highways. Not that my automobile will go that fast amyway ;-). or of course, that anyone follows it.
