Missing Text in Flash Player

Hi all,

I am using Flash Player 7.0.61.0 with Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.1.

Sometimes when viewing certaing flash pages, i can't see the text on the flash. For example, if there is supposed to be a rectangle box with text in it, i only see an empty rectangle box. i SUSPECT its because i do not have the fonts used for those mentioned texts (please correct me if i'm wrong). In that case, how can i configure Flash Player to use a default alternative font instead?

If its because of some other issues, what can i do to resolve it?

Also, when i right-click on any flash, and click on "Settings..." to bring up the Flash Player settings dialog, i can't see any text on that dialog as well. i can see the graphical icons, but no text at all, even the buttons appear as just empty buttons.

TIA and Regards,
Edwin

I've been having problems with this too. I get text for some things but not others. To get the text in the settings dialog install the gsfonts-x11 package. After I installed this I started seeing text in the settings, and some flash movies/games, but I still encounter missing text in a lot of cases. I found a question about this on searching on google, but it was at some site that you have to subscribe to see the answers

Thanks ntubski.

Ok, this does verify that the missing text is caused by missing fonts.

So that goes back to the question on how to configure Flash player to use an alternative default font, if the one used in the Flash movie isn't available?

Anyone?

Thanks and Regards,
Edwin
