Missing Mail in Kmail?

I have just installed and started using linux for the first time, and so far it is the greatest thing since the abacus. Unfortunately, I am getting frustrated with Kmail. It doesn't seem to download all of my mail. Since I have started using Kmail, I have only recieved 6 emails in Kmail, yet when I checked with Mutt I had 37.

Has anyone else run into this situation, or have a solution?

I ran into the same exact problem... And it seems that the problem only occurs for me with the version of Kmail that comes with RedHat 9. When I had Slackware installed... that version worked fine and downloaded all my mail without a problem.

I have found in RedHat to open terminal and

"killall -9 kmail" then restart kmail. That seems to work fine for me, but it is a major inconvenience(spelling)

Thanks for the reply. I may try that.

It appears that it is only affecting my initial download of mail. Once kMail was running, it downloaded all the new mail w/o any problems.

Today I opened kMail prior to connecting and everything downloaded properly. Although I'm not sure if it was because I opened kMail prior to connecting, or because I used the console to open kMail. More learning to do!

Thanks again!
