Question Missing lib files for VLC player, Mplayer, Xine

I am wondering if anyone might be able to help me with this one. I have tried unsuccessfully to get VLC 0.8.1 to install on FC4. I tried 'yum install vlc' but I got 'No Match for argument: vlc Nothing to do'. I have even downloaded the RPM for it. I have most of the dependencies resolved except for the following:
libFLAC.so.4
libdbus-1.so.0
libhal.so.0

There are newer versions of these libs in the /usr/lib folder, though I dont know how to make vlc use them (I'm kinda a newbie at this).

I have also tried to get Mplayer and Xine to run, but I get a massive amount of errors/missing files with them.

Any ideas?

you can get xine, xine-lib, mplayer, and videolan-client (vlc) from freshrpms. Set up the .repo file and install your packages.
