Hello friends
I have installed VLC on mu fedora17 from Rpmfusion repository using command "yum install vlc".
it got installed nice and fine and i was been able to play a mp3 song but after i restarted my system i was unable to find my installed vlc.
what could be the problem ,have i missed few steps in installation
What do you mean you weren't able to find vlc? What about typing "vlc" in terminal?
no i am actully not using terminal , i am using gnome gui,i looked for it in Activities and made a search, after installing it i was able to find it here but now i dont see it.

Mr. Alex was saying to open aterminal, it's available even in gui,you should be able to find it in your menu
2 ideas:
1. look to see if Gnome 3 has a menu editor.
2. Set a keyboard shortcut lo launch it with the media key (if your computer has one) or something like Super [aka the windows key] + v.
To add a program to menu right-click on desktop enter command "alacarte" it will allow editing menu. Or just go to "Main Menu" in applications.
