mirc like irc client

hi there,

i'm looking for an irc client "console" mode that would have the same "look" or equivalent than mirc. I'm looking for main chat window .. user list in row and box for main chat text. just like the old mirc.

BitchX is so far the best client i tested but i haven't been able to configure it to work the way i want.

any help suggestion BitchX or other are welcome

thx for your help

It's not very mIRC-like in appearance but it's *very* straightforward and easy to use: irssi. Program settings are set by issuing /set <option> <value> and while that may sound like a hazzle rest assured it's not. Just type /set dcc and press tab to see what your different dcc options are. A more straightforward client to use is hard to find.
