Minor quibble with Mandrake and ADSL

I recently installed Mandrake 9.1 and managed to successfully configure my ADSL (pppoe) connection for it. I mostly use KDE as a graphical desktop, and I couldn't find any entries in its "start menu" to bring up a connection dialog. The only way I've managed to do it is through the "Network Monitoring" utility, which, it seems, I can only use as root.

I don't particularly mind having to type in my root password whenever I must connect, but, if I'd be glad to know if there's any way to do it as a normal user.
