Minicom terminal problem
Ive been using minicom to talk to a gsm modem. All was well untill today when for some reason, mid session, it stopped letting me issue commands. Now when I enter minicom , I cant issue any commands to the modem, when I type, nothing comes up on screen. Minicom responds fine to control-A z and I can change settings and shut it down from there. I have changed the modem, the com port and the minicom version, none of which have helped

Anyone know what im doing wrong?

It has been a while since I've used a modem manually on any of my Linux machines, but I recall that about 4 years ago, the only way to get a modem to respond to a similar situation was to flash the modem rom with the manufacturer's utility (it was a USR modem). I even recall that I had to plug it into a windows box to use the utility, but it might now work under wine.

I know it's not very helpful, but it did resolve the issue for me ages ago.
