mime type/ocet stream error ??
 
for some reason my comp has been giving me this error when i try and start programs.. "could not find mime type application/ocet stream"

not sure what the hell that means or why it started to come up all the time..it doesnt stop any programs from loading or anything but it is quite annoying..any help would be appreciated

There might be an answer for your problem on my tips page
Don't know if this is specific to KDE though since I don't use Gnome.

There's a "dirty" way to fix the problem.

According to http://www.dmvista.com/Resource/mime_test.html


The application/octet-stream can be various different URL's

So ... To "fix" the problem you could quite easily (It
worked here anyways)
point it to konqueror. (or whatever browser you use.)

I don't know if it's the right thing to do, but it works. I tried
just
deleting the .desktop file, but no go.
So, apparently, neither did the solution I provided work for him and he found another way around it.
