migrate from Knotes old format (notes.ics) to the new one (e-mail message file)

Installed openSUSE 13.2 (KDE 4.14.6) and restored a bunch of app data from previous openSUSE 12.1

New Knotes does not see the old notes.ics file because a change in format from version 3 to 4 - from a single file for all notes (~/.kde4/share/apps/knotes/notes.ics) to an individual message file for each note in ~/.local/share/notes/new/

Discussed here and there, it is a known bug in many places, seeming unresolved so far (afaik) and having some isolated successes.

I've tryied many suggested ways to get it migrated/converted and none of them worked.. Even a perl script wich is a good try but having a problem in code (no known contact to author).

I'm doing it one by one, by hand, as needed... (notes.ics is a text file)

Someone has found a solution? I really appreciate any help.

knotes migration opensuse leap

sorry, my English is very bad...
it seems that I have a similar problem with the migration of my knotes from a opensuse 13.2 installation to opensuse 42.1 leap. After installing the new distribution on a new disk I have copyed .kde4/share/apps/knotes file and the .kde4/share/config file from the old disk to the new disk. But knotes does not see the old notes. Is there anyone who fixed this problem? Pls. let me know if you need any further information about my installation.

greetings
dockercap
