Microsoft Publisher


Hey guys is there anybody that knows of a linux program that is the equivalent of Micrososft Publisher for windows. I mean a program that lets youcreate birthday cards , mothers day cards, and many otehr presentations from templates. Any insight would be appreciated.

You might want to give Scribus a look. It is designed to be an open source desktop publishing tool.

You can probably do most of what you want in any fairly advanced word processor, but if you really need a dedicated publishing program you're probably best of with scribus (as Hangdog42) said.

Agreed Scribus is a much better idea.

I figured those were the two programs that would be recommended. Scribus is definitely closer to Publisher than open office is , but regardless scribus still is lacking in the multitude of templates thae Publisher has. Unless there are template plugins I am unaware of I guess there really is no equivalent.
